Group of four soldiers standing beneath a signpost at Danbury, Essex. 1/4th Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment. 1915. The reverse of this postcard is written from 20004 Sergeant Thomas John "Jack" House to his son in Bristol. Sergeant House notes that the two tall soldiers are six feet four and a half inches tall, and six feet three and a quarter inches tall , "out of their boots". The boy is in the band and is four feet three inches tall, and too young to go overseas.
