Queen's South Africa Medal with clasp for the Relief of Ladysmith. Awarded to 3909 Private G. Shipton. 1st Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment. 1899-1902. Shipton was wounded at Rietfontein on 24th October 1899. Of the 68 British casualties at Rietfontein, only 5 were awarded the Defense of Ladysmith bar, all the others received the Natal bar.
