Powder horn, with scrimshaw work, engraved 'C. WILLIS XXVIII REGT'. Private Charles Willis served in the 28th North Gloucestershire Regiment on convict duty in Australia, 1836-39. The powder horn dates to c.1838 and its design includes 28th Foot regimental badges, battle honours from the Napoleonic Wars, naval vessels, Australian flora and fauna, notably an emu and a kangaroo.
