Infantry officer's sword with V.R. crest on brass hilt. Engraved on blade "LXI South Gloucestershire" with stag crest and motto "Virtute et Valore"; also monogram "MCO'C". Manufactured by Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall, Londson. Belonged to Major M.C. O'Connell, formerly of the 61st South Gloucestershire Regiment and 2nd Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment, 1867-1886.
